‘You Don’t Become a Hero By Being Normal’

Well, I suppose I’m allowed to talk about this. Since I’ve woken up to lots of messages about it, I’m guessing that the cat has escaped from the bag.

A few weeks ago, those good folks at Mondo teamed up with the people behind the new animated feature ‘ParaNorman’. Together they formulated some ideas, and decided to get some artists on board to launch a viral poster campaign. And damn good it is to! The most exciting part about it (for me, anyway) is that I was one of the artists selected to be part of it all.

It would seem that over the past few days, the posters have been wheat-pasted and hung up around various US towns and cities. The prints are at street level and available for passers-by to grab, take home and love (or flip on Ebay, it would appear). The way posters are intended to be. Personally, I love seeing my work out in the ‘wild’, flyers on floors, posters up in shops and venues, or stolen from their original place and re appropriated as art in someone’s home.  I always get a kick from that. So, when I saw photos popping up on twitter and various blogs and websites, I got pretty excited, and couldn’t not share that with you, my beloved readers.

The movie looks like it’s going to be a lot of fun, and this campaign is a great idea, that I’m happy to be part of.

I’d like to say a big thanks to Mondo, and the film makers, for including me amongst such a stellar group of artists.

Here’s how it all looks. Hope you like it.

And some shots from in the ‘wild’.
